Colour matching – selecting colours for drapes and colour swatches.
Q: “Kim, I am looking for a drape colour for Summer soft similar to sage, and one for Autumn soft similar to peach. Can you give me the drape number for these please?” Wizburga
A: Dear Wizburga, We are unable to help with choosing specific colours for drapes and colour swatches. Let me explain why.
What you refer to as ‘sage’ may be completely different from what I think of ‘sage’. According to the dictionary, sage is greyish-green – If this is what you mean, you could choose from #129 Green Grey or #138 Olive Green.
If it isn’t what you mean, then you could be ordering entirely the wrong drape!
There are no international agreements on the names of colours so what you call ‘peach’, someone else may call ‘apricot’. Download the Full drape list chart for all our drape names.
Also, I have no idea which drapes you already have.
The only accurate way to ensure correct colour matching is for you to invest in a Colour Fabric Catalogue which contains one swatch of each of all our colour fabrics (excluding men’s fabrics) and represents a much lower investment than purchasing a seasonal drape set or tonal drape set which only contain 60 or 90 colours each respectively.
Our catalogue currently contains 173 colours so the Colour Fabric Catalogue is also a professional visual aid which you can use to demonstrate the nuances of colour to your clients.
- We are unable to consider scans, images, or photos for colour matching as we cannot guarantee that our computer screen calibrates colour in exactly the same way as yours
- We are unable to consider your colour names or descriptions as there is no internationally-recognised list of colour names or descriptions to rely on
- We do not supply samples or any products on a sale or return basis
- Please read our Returns Policy before ordering
