Does the Colour Fabric Catalogue contain the entire list seasonal and tonal fabric drape colours? Autumn, winter, spring, summer, cool, warm, light, dark, bright and muted?
The Colour Fabric Catalogue contains one paper-backed swatch for each of ALL our fabric drape colours – and they match ALL our swatches. The catalogue excludes the men’s drapes/swatches. So yes, all seasonal, tonal, expanded, extended, flow… every type of ‘system’ known to man is covered.

Paper-backed swatch labels
Each of the paper-backed-swatches in the Colour Fabric Catalogue has the drape number and generic colour name on the back. There are no labels on the front like the drapes, as the swatches are far too small.
Q: So in the Colour Fabric Catalogue there is no way of knowing if the swatch is from autumn, winter, spring, summer, cool, warm, light, dark, bright and muted?
A: Correct. There are no seasons or tones printed on the back of the paper-backed swatches. This is because there is no international governing body which legislates on which colours belong to which tone or season.
What if we typed ‘Winter’ on a colour that you think should be classed as a ‘Summer’?
The manufacturer supplies fans, swatch wallets, and drapes to a myriad of businesses worldwide and there are many different colour systems being used.
Drape list guide
Use the full drape list as a guide and make your own mind up whether you agree with the notation or not. For instance, I would never, ever put an Autumn in any shade of grey, and yet, the image consultant who created these swatch wallets and drapes felt quite happy including grey in the Autumn swatches!
I continue to use these swatch wallets and fabric fans with my clients but would suggest to an Autumn that if she wears grey near her face, she will look rather poorly!
At the end of the day, it’s always the client’s choice.
